Just to let you know that all competitions are open to non-members. The only difference is that non-members are not entitled to be included in the points system. At the end of the year the top three senior anglers with the most amounts of points from the beach matches are presented with £50, £30 and £20. The same is also awarded to the top three from the pier comps as well. Entry fee (for the monthly comps) per angler is £8, this breaks down that £5 is for heaviest weights (1st, 2nd and 3rd) £2 for heaviest fish and £1 for heaviest flatfish (if no flat fish caught then second heaviest fish). All monies received will be paid out. The beach rover comps and can be fished within the boundaries of Deal. I will be available to take entries approximately an hour before the start. Entries for the beach and pier matches are taken at the clubs HQ The Marina.

An interesting point was raised at a comp the other week which follows on from your outline of the prize structure.

A very experienced club member was of the opinion that on a tie for the heaviest fish the prize money should be paid out to the angler with the highest weight rather than split equally between the two anglers.

This is not my understanding of the position particularly as the heaviest fish pool is a separate designated part of the entry fee.

This is likely to happen again one day with all these similar size dogs can I have any thoughts on this and perhaps a ruling from the committee would be appropriate.
